Victoria Vela - Timberview Golf
Vela finished fourth in the individual standings at the state golf tournament. She was 12th after the first round, having shot a 79, but rebounded to fire the low round (71) on day two of the tournament. Vela finished six shots behind tournament winner Casey Grice of A&M Consolidated.
The girls track team from Grace Prep captured the TAPPS 5A state track and field championship over the weekend. Janette Eubanks took home two gold medals, winning the triple jump and 100 hurdles. Whitney Ellison won gold in the discus, while Jordan Oddo earned gold in pole vault. The Grace Prep boys finished second overall.
